About

Mhairi creates wheel thrown pottery inspired by places, moments and memories in and around Scotland.

She began her journey with pottery at Greys School of Art in 2019 graduating in 2023 with a 2:1 in Product design and the John Greys Legacy Award. Since then, she has ran her business out of her studio at Deemouth Artist Studios selling work at in person events and in some local shops around the North East of Scotland.

Mhairi’s practise also includes origami and more advanced and expressive paper folding. This began as a hobby but quickly developed into a more advanced practise resulting in bespoke lampshades, mindful workshops and one off pieces of art. Her favourite paper folding experience so far was working as a part of a team of paper folders for Kate Collin Design creating baubles for Prada stores in November of 2023.

Finally, a large part of Mhairi’s practice is teaching workshops in both pottery and paper folding, as well as working for the Grampian Hospital Art Trust supporting Artroom sessions for the mental health of patients and the community.
